As a returning international student to UFV, your cost will depend on your program and any additional costs like lab fees, course materials, field trips, and other extras.

You must pay your tuition and fees by the deadline for international students.
You are expected to attend courses full-time during the fall and winter semesters. Full-time attendance is based on a minimum of 12 credits. Most courses are worth three credits, so 12 credits usually equals four courses.
If you are taking courses in the summer, there is no course load requirement. You can study part-time and your tuition will be calculated per credit.
- Fall or winter tuition: $7,872 (12 credits) plus $656 for every additional credit
- Summer tuition: $656 per credit
Adding and dropping courses
As an international student attending full-time, you should enroll in at least 12 credits worth of courses. If you add a course, you will pay $656 for every credit over 12. For example, if you are enrolled in four courses worth three credits each, and you add a three-credit course, you pay an additional $1,968.
If you drop or withdraw from courses, you should know the withdrawal dates because you may be subject to academic and financial penalties.
You may be eligible for a refund if you withdraw from a course. The amount depends on the program and circumstances and is based on the total tuition fees for each course.
Other fees and expenses
Student fees: $445 per semester
Every student contributes to the student union and student societies. These fees also include a public transit pass for unlimited access to nearly all local transit.
Medical and dental insurance: $800 per year
You must have medical insurance while you are in Canada.
Books and supplies: $1,280 per year
Housing in residence: $5,900 per year
Baker House is our on-campus residence. There are also off-campus housing options.
Living expenses: approximately $4,000 per year (varies from student to student)
Co-op placement: $1,200 per semester
This fee is charged for each semester you get paid work experience through our co-op program.
Transfer credit evaluation fee: $250
This fee applies only if you are transferring credits from another post-secondary school.
