As a new international student, UFV will register all your classes for your first semester. For your second and subsequent semesters, you will need to register for courses on your own.
Yes! To ensure you are protected in case of accident, injury, or sickness, you will need to have medical insurance while studying as an International student in Canada. UFV will help you enrol in the required medical insurance programs.
As an international student, you have many living options while studying in Canada. Our on-campus housing, Lá:lem te Baker, provides a convenient option for new international students. International students also have the option and flexibility to live off-campus, but be aware of rental scams.
Don’t worry! Many of our students are coming to Canada for the first time and will be in the same situation. That is why we have put together a fantastic orientation program for new international students where we will help integrate you into university life in Canada!
If you have a valid reason you cannot arrive for the start of your registered semester, you may have the option to defer your admission. You will need to submit a deferral request form and it will be reviewed by the University.
