New students can review their Letter of Acceptance to find the deposit amount that is due to secure their seat at UFV.

New international students can view a semester cost breakdown for new students for tuition and fee totals.

Current international students can view a semester cost breakdown for current students. Tuition and fee payment must be received and posted to a student's UFV account before course registration.

Semester course load

All international students (except those in post-grad programs) will pay tuition based on a minimum of 12 credits per term (for fall and winter semesters only). Many programs require students to enrol in more than 12 credits for appropriate progression in their program and for study permit compliance. Students enrolled in more than 12 credits will be charged for each additional credit. Some course have additional fees for materials, field trips, etc. as indicated in the semester timetables.

In the Summer, UFV offers select courses and all international students pay per credit.

Reduced course load & per credit tuition payment

To reduce your UFV course load and pay tuition on a per credit basis in a fall or winter semester, you can make a written request with appropriate evidence demonstrating one of the following criteria:

  • The full time course load for the semester combines UFV courses and courses at another institution
  • Less than the normal course load is required to complete the credential in the last semester of study
  • Medical reasons prevent full time study
  • 10-credit restriction due to academic warning/probation
  • Co-op work semesters can include part-time study paid on a per-credit basis.

Unlike the fall and winter semesters, summer semesters are considered optional and provide you with an opportunity to study part time and pay for courses on a per-credit basis (rather than as a flat fee).

Students who are approved to pay per credit are subject to the withdrawal penalty dates set out by the Office of the Registrar each semester.
